Abstract

The two dance books published by Fabiana Capriotti, function as object-books that merge text and images to evoke movement and improvisation. Through poetic exercises, they invite the reader to explore bodily spontaneity. The first volume, which reads horizontally, with cursive strokes and symbolic drawings of humans, animals and terrestrial phenomena, blurs conventions and emphasizes sensory perception. It includes phrases such as “skin is always” and pedagogical guidelines such as “warm up” to guide practice. The second, prefaced by Marie Bardet, features embroidered motifs of plants and insects, highlighting attention to detail, collective support, and shared creativity.
