Abstract

This research is based on three constituent elements: the group as a mode of production and creation; a cultural policy oriented towards decentralization, and the notion of territory as an identity element organizing citizenship movements. Studies analyzing the consequences of cultural policy are taken as a starting point. The group's headquarters that have received support from public policies have evolved into platforms for research, creation, and exchange of knowledge.  This was proved to be a highly relevant element in the process. Next, a field investigation is carried out, from which the following are presented Coletivo Estopô Balaio and Cia Cerne, both located about 30 kilometers from the center of each capital. In conclusion, the study focuses on territorial dramaturgy, examining the continuity of a theatrical ensemble based in a peripheral quarter, at a time when identity issues are linked to political struggles.
