About the Journal
Objective
The journal Liminal, published by the Guillermo Ugarte Chamorro National School of Dramatic Arts (ENSAD), was created with the aim of promoting academic reflection on theater regarding 1) art and the development of political subjects in contemporary societies, 2) the spatial structural components of the performing arts, and 3) decoloniality, interculturality, and emancipatory proposals from the perspective of artistic-theatrical pedagogy.
Thematic coverage
On art and the development of political subjects in contemporary societies, the journal welcomes papers that reflect on art in the public sphere, the relationship between art and politics, and the role of the performing arts in the construction of citizenship. Regarding the spatial structural components of the performing arts, papers should investigate contemporary poetics of space and the universes of lighting. Finally, to address decoloniality, interculturality, and emancipatory proposals from the perspective of artistic-theatrical pedagogy, we will accept works that discuss new approaches to modernities and decoloniality in arts education, the study and teaching of arts education from an intercultural perspective, and the relationship between art, education, and curriculum design.
Audience
It is aimed at artists, researchers, and students of the performing arts, as well as other audiences interested in the proposed topics.
Frequency
Liminal is a virtual journal published twice a year (January-June and July-December) and in continuous edition.
Article processing charges (APC)
The journal Liminal does not charge article processing charges (APC).
