The purpose of this research paper is to delve into the view that has been constructed around the figure of Alfonsina Storni and her poetry in relation to motherhood, suicide, and her relationship with men. We will address the way in which her figure was developed from various descriptive elements present in her poetic works in different theatrical universes, and how these elements have in some way conditioned the way she is researched, no longer as an object of study but as a woman, no longer as a female writer in a historical context where poetry was entirely masculine. The central point we will focus on will be to think about what theatrical perspectives can be conceived of Alfonsina outside of the sea and whiteness as nicknames that in some way repress who she was beyond the poet of the sea or the single mother, or the girl who wrote verses in her childhood. It is from the play Alfonsina y los hombres by Mariano Moro (2012-2019) that certain questions are revealed to us for the analysis that brings us together: How has the figure of Alfonsina been conceived in various theatrical productions in general and in the aforementioned play in particular? And how, even with the intention of making her figure visible, does a patriarchal device continue to operate within theatrical texts? And with that, how has all this legitimized the way we appropriate a figure who, even with the biographical knowledge we have about her, is diluted?
