About the Journal

Liminal: Journal of Performing Arts Research, founded in 2023, is an academic publication edited by the Guillermo Ugarte Chamorro National School of Dramatic Arts (ENSAD) in Peru. It specializes in academic reflection on theater, with an emphasis on three thematic areas:

  • Art and the development of political subjects in contemporary societies.
  • The spatial and structural components of the performing arts.
  • Decoloniality, interculturality, and emancipatory proposals from artistic-theatrical pedagogy.

Este dossier monográfico reúne una selección de ensayos que exploran las múltiples formas en que el desplazamiento ―voluntario o forzado― atraviesa las dramaturgias, las prácticas escénicas y las poéticas teatrales en contextos europeos e hispanoamericanos. Mediante enfoques históricos, literarios, lingüísticos y performativos, los trabajos aquí reunidos conciben la migración como una experiencia estructurante que articula memorias colectivas, lenguajes artísticos, identidades políticas,
lenguas y corporalidades en tránsito.
